Chapter Four

Kai came more fully awake when he felt the pressure on his wrist. He wiggled his hand and found one of his wrists still tied to a bedpost. He blinked and rubbed his eyes, and then he reached up to untie it. He flexed the wrist and massaged it, but then something else demanded his attention. The vampire who had spent most of the night making him writhe in ecstasy pulled him close and crawled on top of him.

Ladon smiled. “I want that, too.” He eased off the bed. “Let’s get dressed so we can feed you more substantially.”

Kai watched Ladon pour water into a basin and begin washing his face. “That was easy.”

Ladon dried his face and smiled. “You’re my mate. An equal. The one being taken is never the lesser partner.” He studied Kai’s face. “Did you feel used when you were with the other man?”

“No. He was a decent man. But it was obviously nothing more than an exchange of pleasure.”

“I will make up for all the love you’ve been without all these years.
